Effective remedy for Heartburn - Chewing Gum!

Heartburn sufferers may 've a new weapon in their arsenal. A pair of recent studies has indicated that chewing gum may be an effective remedy for heartburn. Besides tasting good & keeping the mouth fresh, gum can also prove good for the heartburn health.

Chewing gum is basically a type of gum traditionally made of chicle, a natural latex product, or synthetic rubber known as polyisobutylene, which is a non-vulcanisable form of the butyl rubber (isoprene-isobutylene). For reasons of economy & quality, many modern chewing gums use rubber instead of chicle. Chicle is nonetheless still the base of choice for some regional markets, such as in Japan.

Chewing gum is available in a wide variety of flavors such as mint, wintergreen, cinnamon & various types of fruits. Mintier flavors are often chewed for fresher breath. There is no standard type of gum, as it can be formed in many different shapes & sizes. The research has shown that chewing on a piece of gum helps to force fluids back into the gastrointestinal tract, which subsequently floods the esophagus with alkaline saliva to neutralize the acids which cause the burning sensation associated with heartburn.

Heartburn is an extremely common condition with over 15 million Americans who regularly experience some discomfort as a result. With the billions of dollars that are spent on antacids every year, this may provide a welcome alternative for some sufferers. Liked it? Then Pls Promote!
