Turning off lights at night can reduce weight

A recent research study suggests that by turning off the lights at night can reduce weight.
It is rather not a digesting thought to even think about reduction of weight from switching off the lights at night but as a matter of fact, its true according to the recent research. A lot of suggestions are surfacing to lose the weight, but the secret to maintain a healthy weight & avoid obesity is simple & easy.

According to the researchers from Ohio State University, constant exposure to light during the hours of darkness changes the metabolism & increases weight. The study found that people consume more foods at night when the metabolism is slowing down.

Researchers found mice exposed to light at night over eight weeks had gained more weight than those in a standard light-dark cycle. It is clear that mice that lived with light at night were getting fatter than the others. The researchers also highlighted that weight gain is clearly not just calories in & calories out, but it also depends on our own body clock or circadian rhythms.

Light at night is an environmental factor to the obesity epidemic. People, who use their personal computers or laptops & watch TV at night, eat at wrong times & used to disrupt their metabolism. The study published online in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences suggests that night shift workers are at higher risk of developing heart disease & diabetes along with obesity.

I think the reason behind it built up fat cells which develop under stress and poor metabolism.Light during sleep does hinder rest and metabolism.

I do switch off all the lights before I sleep and my cousin sleep with the lights on. I'm plumper than her. I guess it works for only mice.
