Multiple Miscarriages increase risk of heart attack

Miscarriages are the most unlucky situations of any pregnant woman's life & sounds normal these days. According to the research says that, having multiple miscarriages may raise the risk of heart attack in later life. Researchers suggest doctors to go through the history of miscarriage while treating a woman suffering from heart problems.

Miscarriage or spontaneous abortion is the spontaneous end of a pregnancy at a stage where the embryo or fetus is incapable of surviving, generally defined in humans at prior to 24 weeks of gestation. Miscarriage is the most common complication of early pregnancy. The German study, published in the journal Heart found that women, who had more than three miscarriages, were at the chance to develop the risk of heart attack.

The study conducted on more than 11,500 women aged between mid-30s & mid-60s found that most of the women suffered from heart attacks who had multiple of miscarriages. About 2,876 women who were reported miscarriages, suffered from heart attacks in later life. However other factors such as weight, alcohol consumption & smoking also responsible for heart problems.

Researchers from the German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg said that the findings show that miscarriages are also linked to heart problems. However, some experts from UK said that the factor is still unclear & further study is required to come at the conclusion.
