The Japanese scientists 've developed a nasal drop of the known drug methotrexate, which will be used to treat brain cancer. The latest development is seen as a revolutionary step in the medical science.
The nasal drop will remove the difficulties in reaching the brain. The methotrexate drug often finds it difficult to reach the brain because of a protective layer of cells called 'blood-brain barrier'.
The nasal drop has been tested on rats with brain cancer. According to the researchers at ADME Research, weight of the tumors was reduced by at least one-third, as the drop worked perfect. The study is published in the American Chemical Society journal Molecular Pharmaceutics.
