Women 've worse chronic pain than men: Study

According to the results of a new study indicate that when it comes to chronic pain, women 've it worse than men.

Jennifer F. Kelly, PhD, an Atlanta psychologist who spoke at the meeting of the American Psychological Association says that women experience a different form of chronic pain than men & health care providers need to focus on that.

She says that women are at risk of experiencing multiple different types of pain conditions than men, pain that is more recurrent & more intense. Chronic pain is defined as pain lasting for more than six months in duration with no ease no matter the treatment options used. There are various health conditions that women are at risk of that do in fact cause a lot of pain that men are not subjected too.

Osteoarthritis is a weakening of the bones that can be painful & Fibromyalgia is a condition in which everything seems to hurt for no apparent reason. Women are also more prone to migraines which can be very painful & irritable bowel syndrome.
